Five templates are single-column, text-based and marked ATS-safe; those parse most reliably. Sidebar and two-column designs trade some parsing safety for how they look. Every system is different, so the honest answer is that single-column is safest, not that anything is guaranteed.

All three reach the same account, so it makes no difference which you pick — use whichever you already have to hand. Anything you built before signing in is carried into the account rather than lost.

No. Your draft saves as you go.

Every section you fill in is stored as you type, so closing the tab, reloading, or coming back tomorrow all return you to where you stopped. This works even before you have signed in, on the same browser.

A PDF, a DOCX, or a photo of your resume.

JPG and PNG both work, up to 10 MB, because a photo is read by a vision model rather than a plain text parser. Whatever you upload is read into the form fields for you, so you are not retyping your history.

No. Uploading only reads your details into the form.

That saves you retyping them, and nothing is changed in the process. Every AI improvement after that is a button you press deliberately, on the one section you want help with, and you can keep or discard the result.

No. It never puts a number in your resume that you did not give it.

It will sharpen weak phrasing and turn duties into achievements. Where a stronger line needs a fact it does not have, it asks you — how many, how much, by when — and uses only your answer.

Pick a layout, then set the accent and the background, and the choice is applied across the whole resume at once. Fonts are not adjustable: each template sets its own typeface so every design stays internally consistent.

Whichever the application you are filling in asks for. PDF keeps the layout exactly as you designed it, DOCX is editable if an agency wants to add their own header, and plain text is the safest paste into an online application form.

Paste a job description that does not match your background and BuildR says so, rather than handing you a resume that quietly overstates the fit. When tailoring does run, it also shows you which parts of your history it left out.

Drag it to the position you want inside the frame. Worth knowing before you do: a photo is expected on resumes in some countries and discouraged in others, and it is one of the things an older parser can struggle with.
